In Pavlodar, pensioners who had previously fallen victim to scammers brought a cake containing a firecracker into a bank branch.
After losing money in fake investment schemes, the scammers contacted the pensioners again. Promising to return the money they had previously invested, they convinced the elderly victims to bring a cake with a firecracker into a bank branch and light the fuse.
As a result of the incident, two elderly people sustained minor injuries.
According to the police, several criminal cases have been initiated, and law enforcement authorities are identifying everyone involved.
If someone contacts you after you've lost money and promises to recover it while asking you to perform suspicious actions, this is a serious warning sign.
