WhatsApp strengthens protection against scam calls

WhatsApp has introduced a Privacy Checkup feature that allows users to automatically silence calls from unknown numbers.

When enabled, calls from unknown contacts will not ring on the device, but they will still appear in the call log so users can review them later if the call turns out to be important.

The new feature is designed to reduce unwanted and potentially fraudulent calls. Security experts also recommend not adding unknown numbers to your contacts, even if requested, as this may be an attempt to bypass the protection.
