Work abroad | 21st-century slavery: People are lured into scam call centers

Thousands of people are lured by advertisements promising "work abroad." Instead, they end up trapped by criminal networks: some are forced to work in scam call centers, some are sold as labor, and in extreme cases people face the risk of organ trafficking.

In Myanmar and Thailand, dozens of compounds are reportedly holding between 150,000 and 200,000 people against their will.

Kazakhstanis are among the victims. The government has already had to rescue our citizens from such situations.
