Loan issues | Loan payment relief: who banks and MFIs are required to support

Since 2025, mandatory loan and microloan payment relief has been available in Kazakhstan for certain categories of borrowers. It applies to socially vulnerable citizens and people affected by emergencies if their income has decreased by more than 30% or if they have been granted targeted social assistance. The relief period must last at least three months and is provided without commissions or additional charges.

To apply, borrowers must submit the required documents confirming a deterioration in their financial situation, illness, job loss, disability, an emergency, or other relevant circumstances.
