STOP MFI | MFIs under scrutiny: new data from the National Bank of Kazakhstan

New requirements for the quality of MFI loan portfolios came into effect on 3 November 2025.

The share of loans overdue by more than 90 days must not exceed 15% until 1 January 2026 and must not exceed 10% from 1 January 2026 onward.

If an MFI exceeds these thresholds, it may face regulatory measures, including the risk of losing its licence.
