Investment scams | “Kazatomprom Project” advertisement featuring a deepfake of the President

A fake advertisement using a deepfake is once again being circulated on social media. In the video, the image of the President of Kazakhstan is used to promote a supposed opportunity to earn up to 400,000 tenge per day with little effort.

Such videos are created using AI: the person on screen appears to say things they never actually said. Scammers use deepfakes to build trust in fake investment schemes, fraudulent websites, and promises of quick profits.
