Scammers are sending forged letters that appear to come from the National Bank of Kazakhstan, listing banks and supposed dates when certain services will be "suspended."

The document looks official, but it is used as part of a fraud scheme. First, a caller pretending to be from the Public Service Center or the postal service asks you to read out an SMS verification code. Then a "bank employee" or "National Bank representative" calls and warns that your money is at risk.

Under the pretext of "protecting your account," the victim is persuaded to install an application, take out a fake loan, transfer money to a "secure account," enable screen sharing, or stay on the phone.

In reality, government agencies and banks do not ask for SMS codes, do not instruct customers to transfer money, and do not send such directives through suspicious letters.
